The native Floridian and former Miss Florida USA is the founder of Island Boat Lines, Water Taxi-Eco Tours. Her company offers daily tours from various locations throughout the Space Coast. Christening her boats with names such as the “ISLANDER”, “SUNSHINE” & “MISS FLORIDA USA”, it is no-wonder that she's been tagged “The Boat Lady”. Penny’s most recent acquisition is a 99 foot Paddle Wheel Boat put into service in fall 2003. The boat was christened “M/V Indian River Queen” and has a vintage appeal. Penny met her husband on a cruise ship where she operated a Beauty Salon Concession. From 1985-1993 her “Heads or Nails” Beauty Salon business was the only female owned & operated concession in the cruise industry and serving eleven Cruise Ships throughout the world. After selling “Heads or Nails” to a public company in 1993, Penny created numerous fund-raiser opportunities for local Brevard schools attended by her three children. All of the fund-raisers were Penny’s original concepts that she personally put into action. These successful fund raisers also provided an environment where the Students gained priceless values and knowledge. Penny continues to give back by also providing Educational Eco-tour boat field-trips to local schools and community groups. She is also very active in many other community groups and committees.
